Here's my Current thinking....   

Join the forum (Free and no junk mail) and I will post all Update notification on this topic:     Model Boat Mayhem Updated today. 

If you 'subscribe' to that topic ( by clicking on    [notify]  button ),
the forum will automatically send you an email saying the topic has been updated
i.e. Subject: Model Boat Mayhem has been updated.

Simple!
