Hi Martin, The work in the wheelhouse has had to be temporarily suspended as I need to go to Scarborough to check out some of the details of the equipment. This has meant that more of the detail work on the hull can be done. The first things to be fitted are the lights on the foredeck, the survivors cabin and the engine room.

This is the switch for these hull lights and is a pcb dil switch with four switch units in the space of 10mm x5mm!! This means more burnt finger ends when wiring up!!

This switch is placed just inside the top hatch of the survivors cabin.

These show the lights in operation, first the foredeck lights, then the survivors cabin light and finally the light in the engine room. All of these were taken with no external light source (good old digital camera!!)

Again all the lights use white led's for convenience.

I have also made a start on the two Delta 16 anchors that are carried on the foredeck of the Mersey.

Here are the pictures of the finished anchors for the Mersey.
This first picture shows the deck fixtures that hold the anchors in place on the foredeck of the lifeboat. The checker plate base is that used by model railway  builders for weighbridges in goods yards!!

The second one shows the anchors completed and stowed in their deck mountings. The anchors are made from laminated plasticard of varying thickness. The manufacturers labels were made by me in photoshop and are held in place with double sided tape, they will be varnished later to protect them against wear and water!

These will be fitted to the foredeck and lashed together as shown in the picture in the background after the foredeck tool locker has been fitted to the front of the superstructure between the front deck lights.

I will send more as the work progresses as usual!

Bye for now Mike
