The picture was was taken on the British Antarctic Expedition which ran from 1910 to 1913.
It shows their ship, the Terra Nova,stuck in the
ice near Antarctica.
The picture was taken sometime in 1910 or 1911.
This expedition was the second to reach the South Pole. Five members of
the expedition lost their lives.
